Beijing National Stadium

The Beijing National Stadium, famously known as the Bird’s Nest, is one of the most iconic sports venues in the world. Located in Beijing, China, the stadium was built for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games and officially opened in 2008.

Designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with artist Ai Weiwei, the Bird’s Nest features a distinctive steel lattice structure and can hold up to 80,000 spectators. It includes a World Athletics-certified track and was purpose-built to host the highest level of international athletics competition including the 2015 World Athletics Championships.
